Crafted in the Bavarian alps, based on the recipe the founder's grandfather brought over from Italy, Mondino is a delicious, organic liqueur made with all locally grown herbs and botanicals and Bavarian spring water. The bitter oranges come from the Amalfi Coast, fresh rhubarb adds a tartness, gentian gives it a bitter tang, and dried hibiscus flower gives it its color, with nothing artificial added. The sugar added is at a minimum, so most of the sweetness comes from the ripe, juicy fruit. As this is on the less bitter end of the aperitivo spectrum, it is more keen on the Spritz treatment than the Negroni, but with a light enough vermouth and gin, could certainly work
