Barolo Monvigliero Riserva, Poderi Roset 2016 (Piedmont, Italy)

Beautifully made Barolo from a tiny plot of old vines in the Monvigliero Cru, which is the crown jewel of Verduno, the northernmost village of Barolo. The vines see no chemicals whatsoever, the grapes are hand harvested and wild fermented, then aged for 3 years in a mix of different sized and aged barrels, then bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur. This wine is showing beautifully with classic notes of rose petal and tar with ripe red fruit with supple, but present tannins. Complex and classic. This wine is an absolute steal.
