Beaujolais "Charron", Quentin Harel 2018 (Beaujolais, France)

Gamay from a 50 year old organic vineyard planted on sand, clay and flint all the way south near the border of Beaujolais and Rhone. The grapes are wild fermented whole cluster, semi-carbonic for a week, then pressed off to cement and enamel tanks for for a year, then bottled unfined and unfiltered with basically no sulfur added. Light on its feet with strawberry and pomegranate and a streak of darker earthy notes in the mix. Beautiful and slightly fizzy upon first opening, definitely for natural production lovers. Vegan.
