From a small parcel in the Dijonnais. It is on a steep slope ( ≥ 13%) that's between 250-300m altitude facing East and Southeast. There's a layer of Comblanchien limestone scree — a very hard specifically well draining type of limestone — that covers the subsoil of white oolitic limestone. Montrecul is a climat, named as such because the slope is so steep, anyone working the vineyards are, effectively, showing their asses.
