Macabeu Brisat "Metamorphika", Costador Terroirs Mediterranis 2020 (Catalonia, Spain)

Macabeu from a single plot of 70+ year old vines made in the same way as the Sumoll Blanc above: 50% Whole cluster, wild fermented in amphora with 12 weeks of skin contact, then 4 months in amphora on the lees and bottled unfiltered with almost no sulfur. More fruit forward and open than the Sumoll Blanc with notes of not so ripe apricots to go with those savory forest floor notes that really are the thread that ties these wines together.
