Cotes du Rhone, Franck Balthazar 2020 (Rhone, France)

Don't let the simple Cotes du Rhone moniker fool you, this is serious business from one of the best winemakers in the region. 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah from a single vineyard farmed by Franck, but about an hour south of his cellar in Cornas. All hand harvested and wild fermented and aged in steel, then bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur added. Deep dark red fruit and spice with a velvet finish.
