Flat Brim is the dynamic duo of Ian and Becky Atkins who owned a few restaurants in El Paso before relocating to Portland to jump both feet into making the kinds of wines that they wanted to drink. They are an urban winery, buying grapes from trusted growers around the state and bringing them back to the city to work their magic. This wine is 100% Petite Sirah from southern Oregon, just north of the California border, 50% carbonic for 10 days, then pressed off to neutral barrels for 10 months and bottled with just a touch of sulfur. Smokey dark fruit with crushed flowers and spice, but juicy and light on it's feet and should definitely be served slightly chilled with some burgers or barbecue. So good.
