Skin Fermented Pinot Gris "Nomine Amoris" 2020 $28 We love skin contact Pinot Gris/Grigio and this is one of our favorites every year, from anywhere in the world. This comes from organic vines planted in the Santa Maria Bench near Santa Barbara, hand harvested at night, destemmed and fermented on the skins with wild yeast for 13 days, then pressed off to old french barrels for 3 and a half months before getting bottled unfined and unfiltered with basically no sulfur added. Full bodied, but light on it's feet and really aromatic and expressive with jucy ruby red grapefruit and crushed flowers. So pretty.
Counoise "Coucou" 2020 $26 100% Cunoise from younger vines in the San Pasqual Valley in northeastern San Diego, harvested at sunrise and fully destemmed. Cunoise has multicolored grapes in each bunch and instead of sorting for the darker berries, they press it all together and leave it on the skins for 14 days, then just like the Pinot Gris, they press it off to old barrels for 3+ months and bottle it unfined and unfiltered with almost no sulfur added. Proper Glou Glou to be drunk by the gallon with notes of red berry fruit, citrus zest and spice with a mouthwatering finish.
