Hors Champs 2019 $22 Made from roughly equal parts Cinsault, Carignan and Grenache all from old vines in Minervois, made in tank with no sulfur added. Clean and precise with spiced dark fruit, but almost weightless with an easy drinking freshness and an unmistakable mineral core. Serve this with slight chill.
La Nine 2019 $26 Made from 100 year old Carignan vines supported by supported by her friends Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvedre in minor roles, aged in a combination of tank and barrel. Structured and complex with spiced, wild dark berry fruit and garrigue. This is what Minervois wine should taste like. Pass the duck and french fries.
