This fine wine comes from the areas of Monforte d’Alba (where the vines are 65-70 years old), Novello (25 year old vines) and Madonna di Como (30 year old vines), with their steep terrain, malleable and rich in clay and sand. Hand-harvested, it is wild-yeast fermented in stainless, then after 3 months transferred to Slavonean barrels to be aged for 8 to 12 months. After a light fining and filtering, it is bottled with a drop of SO2.
It smells like violets, ripe red fruits, wild berries and toasted spices. On the palate it is smooth, round, nicely fruity and balanced, with a long finish.
