Lugana Bianco, Ca Lojera 2021 (Veneto, Italy)

This wine is without a doubt one of the best values in the store. While approachable and familiar, there is depth of flavor and some length befitting a wine at twice the price. Cá Lojera's Lugana provides a solid entry point for northern Italian whites. Lugana, is situated between Veneto and Lombardia, and makes incredible bargain whites. The beauty contains 90% Trebbiano di Lugana, which is all together different from (and not to be confused with) the overproduced Trebiano Toscana variety. Despite the name, it is actually Verdicchio. Ca' Lojera makes its home on the southern bank of Lake Garda. The small winery is known for mineral driven wines, balanced with pristine fruit. White flowers, a touch of melon and lime zest are on display. Italian Chablis, anyone?
