Valli Ossolane Rosso "Munaloss", Cantine Garrone 2019 (Piedmont, Italy)

From a tiny appellation in the Alps all the way north in Piedmont near the Swiss border, where Cantine Garrone remains one of the only producers. This wine is a blend of 50% Nebbiolo (a local version called Prunent), 30% Croatina and 20% Barbera all from tiny organic plot scattered across the hillside, hand harvested and made all in steel. This is a snapshot of the mountains with high toned red forest fruit, crushed rocks and wild herbs. Anything with mushrooms will sing with this beautifully.
