Bianka and Daniel Schmitt work their certified biodynamic, 200 year old family farm completely naturally. They are definitely part of a new wave in Rheinhessen making really great wines with as little intervention as possible. This Pinot Noir comes from a single 20+ year old vineyard, fermented in steel on the skins for 4 months, then moved to old barrel for 2 years before bottling unfiltered with no SO2 added. Light on it's feet, but serious with wild forest berries and cinnamon spice.
