Tonaghe Cannonau, Contini 2020 (Sardinia, Italy)

Mostly Cannonau (aka Grenache) with a small percentage of other local grapes in the mix like Bovale and Nieddera, all from organic vineyards in Oristano in central western Sardinia, hand harvested and wild fermented then aged all in steel. Dark roasted red fruit and wild Mediterranean herbs with a velvety finish. Contini is the oldest continuously producing winery in Sardinia and a true reference point producer of Cannonau and Vernaccia di Oristano.
