Trepat "La Fassina", Costador 2019 (Catalonia, Spain)

Trepat is a red grape that only grows here in the mountains of Conca de Barbera. This one comes from a single 100 year old vineyard, hand harvested  and partially de-stemmed with some whole clusters left intact, then fermented in different sized amphora (300-2500L) for a month before getting moved to barrels where it ages on the lees for 14 months, then it gets bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur. Dark in color, but light on its feet with red pomegranate fruit and earthy forest floor notes with a silky mineral driven finish. If Beaujolais got lost in the woods, this is what it would taste like.
