Motta del Lupo, Paolo Petrilli 2021 (Puglia, Italy)

Cha-chee Meh-mee-tay is a tiny appellation in near the town of Lucera in northern Puglia where they make this traditional blend of red and white grapes including Uva di Troia, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and Bombino Bianco. This one is from organic vineyards, hand harvested with half of the grapes left whole cluster, wild fermented and aged in a combination of steel and old barrels. Juicy, fresh and light on it's feet, not things that this region is usually known for.
