Testalonga 2 Pack

Carla and Craig Hawkins settled in South Africa in 2008 after working around the world with legendary natural winemakers for years. In 2015 they bought land in the rugged northern mountains of Swartland and started planting a wide variety of grapes. While they wait for those vines to mature, they are sourcing fruit old, organic vineyards around Swartland. Despite the hot, intense climate, these wines are light on their feet, precise and nuanced. Totally natural production from start to finish with only minimal sulfur added when needed.

Just a little inside info, these wines are usually much more expensive, but we got a deal on them and we are passing that on to you. Get'em while you can! Here's what we have to offer:

Cortez White, Testalonga 2020 $25 Dry Farmed, bush trained Chenin Blanc from a plot planted in 1972 on decomposed granite. The grapes are pressed whole cluster, then wild fermented and aged  for 6 months in a combination of stainless steel and foudre. Lean and bright with waxy lemon rind, green apple and a savory streak of wild herbs and wet rocks.

Skin, Testalonga 2020 $30 Also Chenin Blanc from a dry-farmed plot planted in 1972. These grapes were de-stemmed and wild fermented on the skins in an open topped tank for 12 days, then aged in foudre. This is a light orange with notes of pear and fennel and spice with gentle, but present tea-like tannins. More savory than fruity.
