Rooftop/Stoop/Park weather is coming, so we put together 3 sets of off-the-beaten-path American wine that fit those settings perfectly. Here are the lineups:

Oregon:

Chateau Deluxe aka Kyle Lattimer is a one man operation. Kyle gave up his former life as a restaurateur to drive around Wilamette Valley in search of the perfect grapes to bring back to the Medici Vineyard cellar and produce beautiful wine in tiny quantities. Here's what we have to offer today:

Pinot Noir Rose 2020 $2615 year old vines from Carlie's Crest Vineyard in Eola Amity, foot crushed with 48 hours on the skins and aged for 10 months in barrel and bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur.

Gamay 2020 $26 100% Gamay from the Schaefer Vineyard, planted in the 70s. The grapes are destemmed and this is made from 100% free run juice aged in barrel for 10 months and bottled unfiltered with just a little sulfur at bottling.

Texas:

Austin Winery is an urban winery sourcing grapes from the Texas Hill Country and bringing them back to the only grape to glass winery in Austin City limits. These wines are forward thinking and experimental, but most importantly, they're really delicious. Here's what we have to offer today:

Picpoul Pet Nat "Chuggy Bubbles" $26 2019 Picpoul from High Plains, Texas refermented with 2020 Marsanne and Picpoul skins and bottle conditioned. Chuggy Bubbles tells you everything you need to know. Drink this in the sunshine in large quantities.

Acqua Pazza 2021 $34 85% Malvasia Bianca and 15% Albarino, aged on the lees in stainless for 1yr, refermented with pressed Marsanne clusters. Papaya, lime zest, ginger, saline, honey.

New York:

Kim Engle and Debra Bermingham have been making wine on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake, in the Finger Lakes since the early 80s and have always worked naturally. We are big fans of theirs and have carried something from them since the first day we opened. Here's what we have to offer today:

Tanzen Dame Edelzwicker Pet Nat $24This is a field blend from the Tanzen Dame vineyard made of mostly Riesling with some Cayuga White and Gewurztraminer and probably a few other varietals, all made in steel and bottle conditioned. Bone dry with green apricot, citrus zest, toasted bread and a savory streak.

Barrow Vineyard Skin Contact Dry Riesling 2019 $24 Single vineyard Riesling fermented on the skins and aged all in stainless steel and bottled unfiltered with just a touch of sulfur. Hazy ripe citrus and grapefruit pith with melon and wild herbs.
